A vintage western print: a rider carries a large American flag from the saddle, a tall cactus standing at his side, the whole scene drawn in fine sepia line on a cream ground.
About the artwork
The flag is the biggest shape on the sheet and it is doing two jobs at once. It fills the top corner so the rider is not floating in empty paper, and its folds are the only curved lines in a drawing otherwise built from upright strokes — horse legs, cactus arms, the rider's straight back. Everything is rendered in the same engraved hatching, no solid blacks and no colour, so the flag reads as cloth rather than as a graphic laid on top.
Why you'll love it
- One large flag. It anchors the composition instead of decorating it.
- A cactus for scale. The saguaro-tall silhouette tells you how far south this is.
- Engraved line only. Every tone is hatching, the way a mail-order catalogue printed it.
- Sepia on cream. Warm enough for a lived-in room, quiet enough not to shout.
- Built as a set. Every design in the western series shares one palette and one paper, so any combination lines up.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This one carries a living room wall on its own, especially above a leather sofa where the sepia picks up the hide. It also works as the tall piece in a mixed gallery wall — the flag gives the group a single point to read first. Natural oak warms it; a black frame makes the line work look sharper and more graphic.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 16" x 24" and up over a sofa, so the hatching in the flag and the horse stays readable rather than turning grey.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Will it clash with a colourful room? Unlikely — there is no colour in it. Sepia on cream sits beside almost anything.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Keep artwork out of direct sunlight. Wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Handle paper prints by the edges until they are framed.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
