A Winnipeg travel poster from the riverbank at The Forks: the single white mast of the Esplanade Riel leaning out over the water with its fan of cables, the glass hull of the Human Rights Museum behind it, and the Red River swinging across the whole foreground in olive and teal.
About the artwork
The most graphic composition in the Canada set — one long diagonal river, one strong vertical mast, and almost nothing competing with them. Flat vector shapes with a fine speckled grain over the whole print. The palette is restrained and slightly desaturated: a flat teal sky, cream and pale grey on the bridge and its round restaurant pod, muted olive and blue-green in the water, and a warm sand strip where the bank meets the current. Downtown towers sit low and quiet on the right. Title in white capitals, WINNIPEG above CANADA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Modern architecture, calmly drawn. The cable fan and the museum's curved glass carry the print without any decorative extras.
- A river that leads. The Red River curve takes the eye from the bottom corner up to the bridge, which is why it works as a single statement piece.
- Muted, not dull. Olive and teal make it one of the few prints here that suits a sage or clay room without clashing.
- Prairie pride. Winnipeg is rarely given a good poster; this one names the city by its two newest landmarks.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Because the palette is muted, this print behaves like a neutral: it will not fight wallpaper, art you already own, or a busy shelf. It looks best on sage, clay or warm grey, where the olive in the river picks up the wall. Natural oak frames suit it; black makes the mast read sharper. A good choice above a sideboard, where the horizontal river band lines up with the furniture.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What is the white bridge? The Esplanade Riel, the cable-stayed pedestrian bridge over the Red River at The Forks in Winnipeg, with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights behind it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
