A Toronto travel poster taken from the open water at the end of the day: the CN Tower lit brass against a bank of cream cumulus, the glass condo towers of the Harbourfront crowding the shoreline behind it, and Lake Ontario running across the whole lower half in ripples of teal.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration in the language of the classic travel poster — hard-edged shapes, no photographic blur — but the lake is built from hundreds of separate ripple strokes, so the water carries more detail than anything else on the page. The palette works warm against cool: brass and sand on the sunlit faces of the towers and the cloud bank, deep teal and petrol blue in the glass and the water, a pale duck-egg sky behind. The tower stands slightly left of centre with its pod and antenna clear of the skyline. The title runs across the sky in wide-tracked white capitals, TORONTO above CANADA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The city at the hour people photograph it. Low sun on the west faces of the towers, the cloud bank still catching light — the ferry-ride view rather than the postcard one.
- Water that holds up close. The lower half is worked ripple by ripple, so the print keeps rewarding a second look at 24" x 36" and above.
- Warm blues. Teal and brass sit easily on cream, clay or oatmeal walls without the coldness most skyline prints bring.
- For people with a Toronto chapter. Students, transplants, anyone who commuted along Queens Quay or watched the tower from the island.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The brass in this one wants warm company. It settles fastest on cream, clay and oatmeal walls, and an oak or espresso frame picks up the light on the towers; a cool grey mount flattens it. The living-room scene above, with the rust cushion, is close to the ideal pairing. In a home office it works at 16" x 24" over a desk, where the ripple texture sits at eye level.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
How is this different from the other Toronto print? The other one is a clear-blue daytime view from much farther out on the lake, with the CN Tower standing almost alone above a low skyline. This is the golden-hour view from closer in, with the Harbourfront condo towers filling the shoreline and warm cloud behind the tower.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
