A Tbilisi Georgia travel poster looking up the river gorge that cuts through the old town. Narikala Fortress runs along the ridge with a small domed church inside its walls, timber balconies hang off the cliffside houses in blue, cream and apricot, and white water breaks over boulders in the channel below.
About the artwork
This is the most detailed drawing in the set. Every house is given its own glazed balcony, carved railing and terracotta pantile roof, stacked so tightly that the buildings appear to grow straight out of the rock. The palette runs warm, with brick red, apricot, ochre and cream for the houses set against olive and moss green on the hillside and a pale washed blue sky. The river is drawn in pale blue and white with individual boulders and spray, and clusters of pink blossom soften the cliff edges. The lettering reads TBILISI above GEORGIA.
Why you'll love it
- Archival fine art paper or gallery-wrapped matte canvas, pigment inks
- Thirteen sizes, 8 x 12 up to 30 x 40 inches, plus A4 to A1
- Framed canvas ready to hang in four wood finishes
- Dense old-town detail that repays hanging the piece at close viewing height
Where it works at home
The warm terracotta roofs make this a natural fit for rooms with wood, brick, wool or leather, and the vertical gorge suits a tall narrow wall beside a doorway, up a staircase, or inside a chimney alcove. There is enough fine detail to reward close viewing, so hang it at eye level rather than high above a sofa.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
Is this Georgia the country or the American state? The country. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia in the Caucasus, between the Black Sea and the Caspian, and the printed wording on the artwork reads TBILISI above GEORGIA.
