A pay day croissant newspaper poster in black and white: a mock front page headlined Calories Don't Count on Pay Day, above a square photo of a woman with a half-eaten croissant.
About the artwork
Her hair is wrapped in a bath towel, and she wears black cat-eye glasses and a fluffy robe, with a coffee cup in one hand and the croissant in the other. Behind her, a soft-focus bedroom wall carries a framed floral picture, which sets the scene as a lazy morning in. The LATEST OBSERVATIONS SHOW kicker gives the joke a straight-faced news tone. In the weather box, the forecast is cool and overcast with a high of 42 degrees, dated Sunday, January 04, 2026. One long headline line sits over the square photo, so the page feels tidy and balanced.
Why you'll love it
- A breakfast-nook smile. A joke about treating yourself that suits a kitchen or coffee corner.
- Right where mornings begin. The robe-and-towel scene fits bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Neutral and easy to group. It sits well beside other monochrome photos and front pages.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it beside a coffee station, in a breakfast nook or above a bathroom shelf with folded towels. Natural wood frames warm the morning mood, while black keeps it crisp. It makes a good pair with the happy hour toast front page for a day-to-night duo.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Where is the croissant? The woman holds it up near her face with a bite already taken, and a coffee cup in her other hand.
Is the photo black and white too? Yes, the whole page, photo included, is in black, white and gray.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
