Almaty travel wall art for anyone who has stood on the green slopes above the city and watched the Zailiysky Alatau turn white at the top. The print holds that exact view: alpine snow, a valley of towers, and meadows falling away in the foreground.
About the artwork
An original digital illustration, not a photograph. The composition stacks three bands — a teal sky, the serrated snow line of the Zailiysky Alatau, and the low grey-blue towers of Almaty spread across the valley floor. Dark spruce and a sunlit meadow occupy the foreground, giving the piece real depth. The palette runs to teal, snow white and spring green, and the city name is set in clean white capitals across the sky.
Why you'll love it
- A view most Almaty prints miss — the mountains and the city in one frame, seen from the foothills.
- Cool teal and green tones that stay calm on a wall rather than shouting.
- Recognisable at a glance to anyone who has hiked Kok Tobe or Medeu.
- Part of a wider Asia travel series printed in the same style, so pieces hang together as a set.
Where it works at home
The cool palette suits a room that already leans grey, timber or off-white — a living room above a low sideboard, or a home office where the mountain horizon gives the eye somewhere to rest. It sits well next to other alpine and Central Asian prints, and the vertical format works in the narrow wall beside a doorway or at the top of a staircase.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
Which mountains are in the picture? The Zailiysky Alatau, the northern range of the Tian Shan that rises directly behind Almaty and stays snow-capped for most of the year.
