This St. Francisville, Louisiana watercolor print shows the long oak allée at Rosedown, with moss-draped live oaks arching over the drive to the white columned house. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the historic grounds, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Spanish moss hangs in pale grey-green strokes over layered leaf washes, and the gravel drive is left as bare paper with violet dappled shade. Moss grey-green, azalea pink and ivory white make up the palette, with green shutters as a quiet accent. Huge live oaks form an arch on each side, the drive leads straight to the two-story house with its deep galleries in the middle ground, and azalea gardens and white marble statues flank the foreground. Tall magnolias rise behind the house in early spring. "ST. FRANCISVILLE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Tunnel of live oaks. Moss-hung branches meet over the drive like a green arch.
- Marble garden statues. Two white statues stand on pedestals among the azaleas.
- Azaleas in full bloom. Pink and white azaleas line both sides of the gravel drive.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
The soft pinks and grey-greens suit a bedroom, a powder room or a formal living room. It is a lovely gift for a garden lover or someone who has wandered Louisiana's old gardens in spring.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of St. Francisville, Louisiana? No. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Rosedown and its oak allée rather than an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "ST. FRANCISVILLE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
