A Sherbrooke travel poster from inside the gorge: the Magog River dropping over ledges and running white toward the viewer, dark rock walls closing in on both sides, and a terrace of red brick Second Empire buildings with a clock tower standing along the top of the far bank.
About the artwork
Water below, town above, and a retaining wall holding the two apart. The rapids take the lower half and are drawn as heavy churning foam in cream over teal, broken by dark wet boulders, with the fall itself stepping down at the left. Above the waterline a stone wall runs the width of the frame, panelled with painted murals, and on top of it sit the brick buildings — mansard roofs, dormers, a tall clock tower with a spire — in warm terracotta against soft green hills. The whole print is tuned to teal and brick, with almost no pure white except the foam. Title in white capitals, SHERBROOKE above CANADA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A waterfall in the middle of a city. The gorge runs straight through downtown, which is what makes this view unusual.
- Brick above, foam below. Warm architecture over cold water, split cleanly by the stone wall.
- Painted walls. The murals along the retaining wall are a real feature of the river path, and they are drawn in.
- Eastern Townships. A regional print for people who know Quebec beyond Montreal and the old city.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Teal and terracotta is a warm-cool pairing that suits cream and clay walls, and it is one of the few prints in the set that also works against a dark green or navy wall. Walnut and espresso frames match the brick. Because the foam detail is fine, hang it at 20" x 30" or above, ideally somewhere with good daylight.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What river is this? The Magog River where it drops through the gorge in central Sherbrooke, Quebec, below the old brick buildings on the bank above.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
