This Salida, Colorado watercolor print shows the 1880s red-brick buildings of Salida's historic downtown set along the rushing Arkansas River. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the river town, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Whitewater is left as white paper between transparent turquoise washes, and fine brown-grey ink outlines the brick facades, carved cornices, a tall steam plant chimney and the bridge. River turquoise, brick red, cottonwood green and snow white form the palette, with red-orange and green kayaks and rafts as accents. The view looks south-west from above Riverside Park, with the brick row on the right bank, the river's white play waves in the middle ground, the F Street bridge crossing it and the old brick steam plant on the left. Park lawn, river rocks, cottonwood shade and a riverside trail fill the foreground, and the snow-capped Sawatch Range closes the early-summer view. Red-orange and blue drips slip from the lower left, with fine dots along the paper edge. "SALIDA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Whitewater action. Kayakers surf the waves while a raft full of paddlers runs the river.
- Old steam plant. The brick plant and its tall chimney add industrial history to the riverfront.
- Snowy Sawatch peaks. The white-capped range rises above the brick downtown.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise, brick and green bring energy to a family room, a teen's bedroom or a home gym. Give it to a paddler, a river guide or friends who just bought a place near the river.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Salida, Colorado? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Salida's downtown and the Arkansas River, made to capture the town's river life rather than an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "SALIDA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
