A Niagara-on-the-Lake poster taken from the sidewalk on Queen Street: a black Victorian lamppost close in the foreground with a basket of pink and coral petunias spilling off it, red brick storefronts running away down the block, and the white clock tower standing at the far end.
About the artwork
The only print in the Canada set built on a close foreground object. The lamppost is drawn large and detailed at the right edge — fluted column, scrolled brackets, glass lantern — and the street falls away behind it in sharp one-point perspective, with a receding line of smaller lampposts and baskets marking the distance. Colour does the rest: warm brick red and cream stonework against a flat turquoise sky, with the flower baskets repeating in pink, coral and yellow all the way down the street. Awnings and shopfront glass carry the light. Title in white capitals, NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE above CANADA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A street, not a skyline. This is what the town is famous for — the hanging baskets on Queen Street in full summer flower.
- Pink that is not sweet. The coral baskets sit against brick and turquoise, so the print reads warm rather than sugary.
- Depth from one object. The near lamppost gives the whole street its scale, which is why it works well in a narrow space.
- Wine country and theatre. Shaw Festival visitors and Niagara wine tourists know this block by heart.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The coral and turquoise combination makes this the most cheerful print in the set, and it belongs somewhere people pass through in daylight — a kitchen, a breakfast nook, a landing. Cream and pale pink walls flatter it; grey drains it. A black frame echoes the lamppost and the shopfront ironwork. It is also the easiest one here to hang in a smaller size, since the near lamppost stays readable at 12" x 18".
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Is this near Niagara Falls? It is the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, at the mouth of the Niagara River about twenty minutes downstream from the falls, shown looking along Queen Street.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
