This Morgantown watercolor print shows Woodburn Hall of West Virginia University, with its clock tower and mansard roof, rising above the lawn of Woodburn Circle. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the West Virginia college town, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Wet layers of orange, gold and brown build the autumn trees, and fine brown ink outlines the clock tower, dormers, mansard roofs and lampposts. Woodburn Hall sits at the center with its arcaded belfry, flanked by red-brick Victorian halls. Wooded hills turning rust and gold fill the background, with a river and a long bridge in the valley on the right. The green circle lawn and curving paths fill the foreground. Fall orange and gold with lawn green lead the palette, with brick red, navy roofs and a touch of blue water. "MORGANTOWN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Victorian brick circle. Red-brick halls with mansard roofs ring the lawn around Woodburn Hall.
- River valley view. A river and a long bridge appear in the hilly valley behind the campus.
- Squirrel on the lawn. A squirrel runs across the grass while students sit and stroll the curving paths.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Rust, gold and brick red suit a cozy den, a guest room with plaid textiles or a home office. It is a heartfelt gift for a West Virginia University graduate or anyone with roots in Morgantown.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Morgantown? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Woodburn Circle, and some background details, like the river and bridge, are arranged freely for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "MORGANTOWN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
