A Montmorency Falls poster from the foot of the gorge: the fall dropping in one straight column down a dark cliff on the left, the suspension footbridge strung across its crest, the St. Lawrence opening out on the right, and the whole lower half boiling white where the water lands.
About the artwork
Built almost entirely from water. The falling column is drawn as fine vertical combing, the plume where it strikes the basin as a soft cloud of spray, and the rapids running toward the viewer as broad curling whitecaps that get larger toward the bottom edge. Against them the cliff is nearly black-green and the far shore is a flat band of forest. The palette is cold and narrow — glacier teal, spray cream, deep green rock — with a single warm note in the ochre rock face at the right. The bridge and its towers sit small at the top, giving the fall its scale. Title in white capitals, QUÉBEC above CANADA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Taller than Niagara. Montmorency drops further than the Horseshoe, and this angle from below is where you feel it.
- Scale you can read. The footbridge across the top is the size cue — without it the fall would just be a white band.
- Cold teal. The coolest palette in the Canada set, which makes it the natural print for a bathroom or a warm-toned room that needs settling.
- A Quebec City day trip. Fifteen minutes from the old town, and on almost every visitor's itinerary.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Pale walls suit it best — white, bone, the palest grey — where the teal reads as clean rather than cold. It is a good bathroom or ensuite print, and it hangs well in a stairwell where the vertical drop of the water matches the rise of the stairs. White or natural frames keep it airy; black makes the cliff read heavier than it needs to.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What is the bridge at the top? The suspension footbridge that crosses the Montmorency River directly above the lip of the falls, just outside Quebec City.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
