This Homer, Alaska watercolor print shows the Homer Spit curving out into Kachemak Bay, with the snowy Kenai Mountains and Grewingk Glacier across the water. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the bay, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Snowy peaks and glacier ice are bare paper with blue-violet shadows, and the bay is built from several clear turquoise layers. Fine ink lines draw the stilt shops, boats and docks, and lupine and fireweed are dotted in violet and pink. The left edge breaks into pink with long drips and splatter. The palette is Kachemak Bay turquoise, glacier blue and spruce green, with violet lupine and pink fireweed. The spit and its small boat harbor curve through the middle ground, the town sits on the bluff to the left, and the Kenai Mountains rise across the bay. A meadow of lupine, fireweed and spruce fills the foreground in midsummer. "HOMER" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Sea otters afloat. Otters drift on their backs in the bay below the spit.
- Wildflower meadow. Lupine and fireweed spill across the hillside in the foreground.
- Glacier across the bay. Grewingk Glacier pours down from the Kenai Mountains.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Turquoise, violet and pink feel bright and airy in a living room, a bedroom or a guest room with white walls. It is a great gift for an angler, a kayaker, or someone who drove the Kenai Peninsula on a summer trip.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Homer, Alaska? No. It is an artistic, stylized watercolor interpretation of Homer, and the shape of the spit is shortened and curved for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "HOMER," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
