An Edmonton travel poster looking down into the river valley: the North Saskatchewan winding through a deep bank of forest, the steel truss of the High Level Bridge crossing above it, downtown towers standing on the bluff to the left, and the prairie running flat to the horizon beyond.
About the artwork
A landscape print that happens to contain a city. The valley takes two thirds of the page and is drawn in layered greens — bright new leaf on the sunlit slopes, deep bottle green in the shade — with the river cut through it as a pale jade S-curve and sandbars picked out in warm ochre along the inside of each bend. The bridge is a dark lattice silhouette, the only hard geometry in the frame, and the skyline behind it is compressed into a compact block of glass and stone. Sky is a clean cerulean with a low bank of cloud on the left. Title in white capitals, EDMONTON above CANADA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The valley, which is the real subject. Edmonton's river valley is one of the largest urban parks in North America, and this print treats it that way.
- An S-curve that carries the eye. The river leads from the bottom of the frame up to the bridge and the city, so the composition never stalls.
- Green that stays warm. Layered leaf greens with ochre sandbars, rather than the cold blue-green of most river prints.
- For valley people. Anyone who ran the trails, crossed the High Level on the tram, or lived up on the bluff.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The green mass makes this an easy print for rooms with plants and wood; it sits especially well on cream and warm white. Oak frames disappear into it, walnut gives it more weight. Because the bridge and skyline detail is small, hang it where it can be looked at rather than glanced at — a stairwell landing or beside a desk at 16" x 24" or larger.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What bridge is that? The High Level Bridge, the steel truss crossing of the North Saskatchewan River between downtown Edmonton and the south side.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
