This Deception Pass watercolor print shows the grey-green steel arch of the Deception Pass Bridge spanning a narrow jade channel, seen from North Beach in Deception Pass State Park. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the Washington coast, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines draw the bridge's lattice arch, the rock cliffs and each piece of driftwood, and white tidal swirls are left as bare paper in the jade water. The bridge crosses the upper center, looking east from the beach. Below it sits small Pass Island, with the Canoe Pass span behind, and both shores rise in steep fir-covered cliffs. The Skagit hills fade softly behind the bridge. A pebble beach with silver driftwood and seaweed-covered rocks fills the foreground, and the edges melt into green, pink and blue washes with drips. "DECEPTION PASS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Tidal swirls. White eddies drawn in the channel show the fast current under the bridge.
- Red madrone. A red-barked madrone leans out over the water from the shore.
- Boats in the current. A white fishing boat rides the swirl and two kayakers in red and yellow paddle near shore.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Jade, deep green and soft grey suit a coastal living room, a bathroom or a bedroom with navy and natural wood. It makes a nice gift for a Washington native or a couple who walked the bridge on a weekend trip.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Deception Pass? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Deception Pass and its bridge, painted from North Beach in a loose watercolor style.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "DECEPTION PASS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
