This Chrysler Building watercolor print shows the Art Deco tower's steel crown and spire in New York City, seen from the Tudor City overpass above East 42nd Street. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of Midtown, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines pick out the stepped sunburst arches with triangular windows at the top of the tower and the carved stone balustrade in the foreground. Autumn trees are dabbed in layered orange and gold, and violet and ochre washes drip down beneath the railing on the left. The palette combines beige and brick brown buildings, gray-blue glass towers in the distance and orange leaves, with the silver steel crown and yellow taxis as accents. The tower stands center-right, viewed west from the overpass, with 42nd Street running straight down the middle full of traffic and setback towers lining both sides. It is late autumn with crisp, clear light, and the scene fades out in splatter and washes on a white paper border. "NEW YORK" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Sunburst steel crown. The terraced steel arches and needle spire are drawn in careful detail.
- Tudor City overlook. A stone balustrade and an old iron lamppost in the foreground frame the view down the street.
- Street canyon traffic. A white city bus, yellow taxis and pedestrians under green awnings fill 42nd Street.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The beige, orange and blue mix suits a home office, den or hallway with walnut furniture or brass details. It makes a sharp gift for an Art Deco fan, an architect, or anyone who commutes through Midtown. Pair it with our New York City watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Chrysler Building? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the view along 42nd Street, and some of the surrounding buildings are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "NEW YORK," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
