A Calgary travel poster from street level rather than from the air: two curved glass towers framing the view like curtains, the Calgary Tower standing in the gap with its red observation deck, and the snow on the Rockies floating above the mid-rise blocks at the end of the avenue.
About the artwork
The busiest composition in the Canada set, and the only one with a crowd in it. Flat vector shapes, but drawn in one-point perspective so the paving, the awnings and the rows of windows all run to a vanishing point behind the tower. The palette is built on one hard contrast: cool blue-grey glass and pale sky against saturated red — the tower's deck, the canopies along the right-hand arcade, and the coats of people crossing the plaza. A pale sculpture sits in the middle of the square, and the mountains behind are drawn in flat white and grey-blue with no detail, so they read as distance. Title in white capitals, CALGARY above CANADA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A city at eye level. You are standing on the plaza in this one, not looking down at a skyline from a helicopter.
- Red doing real work. The only strong warm accent in the Canada series, and it makes the print carry across a large room.
- Prairie city, mountain backdrop. The Rockies sit right at the end of the street, which is exactly how Calgary feels on a clear day.
- Energy and finance people. A downtown-Calgary print that names the city by its tower rather than by a rodeo cliche.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The red accents give this one a job most travel prints cannot do: it lifts a grey or charcoal room. On white it looks graphic and modern; on warm clay the reds tie in and the blues cool the wall down. Black frames suit the hard geometry better than oak. It holds a stairwell or a long corridor well, where the perspective lines have room to pull you down the street.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What is the tower with the red top? The Calgary Tower, the observation tower in the middle of downtown Calgary, with the Canadian Rockies visible beyond the city.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
