This Bryson City, North Carolina watercolor print shows a Great Smoky Mountains Railroad excursion train running along the Tuckasegee River below the Smokies. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the town, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The turquoise river is laid in clear washes, with white paper left for the rapids and fine ink around the rocks, and the vintage locomotive is drawn in careful ink detail. River turquoise, sycamore and forest greens and smoky mountain blue set the palette, with the train's wine red and gold as the accent. Seen from the opposite bank, the train crosses the middle ground along a rocky shore, small brick shops and a white church steeple sit behind it, and an iron truss bridge stands on the right. Layered blue Great Smoky Mountains fill the background in high summer. "BRYSON CITY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Vintage diesel locomotive. A red engine trimmed in gold leads the line of coaches.
- Tubing the river. Three people float down the rapids on inner tubes.
- Fly fisherman. An angler casts from a boulder in the foreground.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The turquoise, green and deep red palette suits a kid's room, a den or a cabin living room. Give it to a train lover or a family that rode the excursion train on a Smoky Mountain vacation.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Bryson City, North Carolina? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Bryson City and the railroad, and details of the train cars are simplified.

Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
