This Boundary Waters watercolor print shows a pink-grey granite point topped with pines, sloping into a calm wilderness lake. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of canoe country, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink outlines the granite, pine trunks and canoes, and the lake is a deep blue wash with vertical tree reflections. Aspen and birch leaves are dabbed in gold. The palette is deep lake blue, pine green, aspen gold and pink-grey granite, with a green canoe and lily pads as accents. The Canadian Shield granite point sits center right under a tall white pine and jack pines, islands of spruce sit across the water, and hazy blue-violet ridges fade behind. A lichen-covered ledge and orange-gold shrubs fill the foreground in early autumn. "BOUNDARY WATERS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Loon on the lake. A black-and-white loon swims in the calm water.
- Paddlers and camp. Two people paddle a canoe while another canoe rests on the rock by a small fire grate.
- Turning aspens. Gold leaves mark the first days of fall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep blue, pine green and gold suit a lodge-style living room, a study or a bedroom with plaid and wood. Give it to a canoe tripper, a camper or anyone who counts portages as a vacation.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Boundary Waters? No. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of a lake in the Boundary Waters, not a map-accurate view of one specific point.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "BOUNDARY WATERS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
