An Annapolis Maryland travel poster taken from the boards of City Dock, looking past mooring pilings and coiled rope to a line of moored schooners with furled sails, the red brick warehouses and dormered rooftops of the waterfront on the right, and the pale dome of the Maryland State House lifting above the trees in the distance.
About the artwork
Flat, hard-edged vector shapes with fine drawn linework in the plank grain, the rigging and the water. Colour runs warm sand and honey through the weathered dock boards, brick red and rust across the buildings and the hulls, cream on the sashes, dormers and furled sails, slate grey on the roofs, steel blue in the rippled water, and a clean flat teal sky. Details to look for: the flag on the State House cupola, tarred ratlines between the masts, the rope coiled over a cleat in the lower corner, chimney stacks along the brick roofline, and long low shadows across the pier. The printed type reads ANNAPOLIS above MARYLAND in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A sailor's view — the town seen from the dock, not from a tour bus.
- Two icons in one frame — the schooner fleet and the State House dome together.
- Warm wood, cool water — honey-toned planks against teal sky and steel-blue harbour.
- Depth you can walk into — the pier leads the eye all the way to the dome.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The brick red and honey plank tones want a warm room rather than a cold one. It looks right on the terracotta wall in the photographs above, and equally at home on putty, oatmeal or a soft navy. Pair it with walnut or oak furniture, brass hardware and a jute rug; the teal sky is the only cool note, so a single blue cushion or ceramic is enough to echo it. Good over a sideboard in a dining room or above a desk in a study.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The masts and the dome need room, so 24" x 36" and up over a sofa or sideboard. At 12" x 18" the composition still reads, but the small brick detail softens.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Matte canvas comes stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Which way round does it hang? Portrait only, in a 2:3 ratio, so it fits standard vertical frames without custom matting.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
