An Aloha Tower Honolulu poster that looks across open water to the cream clock tower on Honolulu Harbor, with an outrigger canoe under sail in the foreground, downtown high-rises packed behind the waterfront sheds, and the green wall of the Koolau range rising into a pale morning sky.
About the artwork
Drawn as flat, hard-edged vector shapes with fine engraved linework across the water and the ridges, in the manner of a mid-century screen-printed travel poster. The palette runs deep teal and petrol blue in the harbour, white foam on the wave crests, sand and cream on the tower and the pier buildings, verdigris green on the tower roof and the warehouse rooftops, sage and grey-green on the mountains, and a soft cream-blue sky. Details to look for: the four clock faces and the weather vane on the spire, moored yachts and tour boats along the quay, palms on the promenade, and the mirrored glass of the office towers. The printed type reads HONOLULU above HAWAII in thin white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The harbour, not the beach — Honolulu seen from the water, the way arriving ships see it.
- A landmark with a story — the clock tower that met every Matson liner at the pier.
- Cool, watery colour — teal and sand instead of the usual tropical sunset orange.
- Reads from across the room — big simple shapes stay legible at small sizes too.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The deep teal takes over a wall quickly, so give it a quiet background — chalk white, warm grey, or the sage green room in the photographs above. It sits well over natural oak and rattan, and the cream of the tower picks up linen and undyed cotton. In a bathroom or an entry hall the cool blues read as fresh; over a bed, the long calm horizon line does the work.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Over a sofa or a bed, 24" x 36" or larger. On a shelf or inside a gallery wall, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" keeps the tower and the boats legible.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Matte canvas comes stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The printed type is HONOLULU with HAWAII beneath it. The Aloha Tower name itself does not appear on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
