This Whitefish watercolor print shows the Tudor Revival Whitefish Depot with a silver passenger train at the platform and Big Mountain ski runs rising behind. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Whitefish, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Thin brown ink lines detail the Tudor timber framing, the shingles and old street lamps, while the silver train is painted in blue-gray with bare-paper highlights. Deep spruce green, cream stucco and dark timber pair with distant mountain blue, accented by pink daisies, purple lupine and brick-red storefronts. The depot's steep gables sit on the left with a brick chimney rising, and the long train stretches right along the platform. Central Avenue storefronts fill the middle ground, and a brick walkway with a wooden bench, lamps and flower beds runs across the foreground. It is midsummer in full bloom, with snowy peaks in the distance. "WHITEFISH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Platform travelers. Passengers roll suitcases along the platform beside the silver train.
- Hiker and yellow dog. A backpacker walks a yellow dog past the bench and lampposts.
- Hanging flower baskets. Baskets of flowers hang from old black street lamps along the brick walk.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Spruce green, cream and timber brown suit a lodge-style living room, an entryway or a reading corner. It is a thoughtful gift for a train traveler, a Montana skier or someone who just bought a cabin near Whitefish.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Whitefish? No. It is an artistic interpretation that places the depot, the train, the main street and the ski mountain together in one summer scene.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "WHITEFISH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
