This Venice watercolor print shows the domed church of Santa Maria della Salute at the end of the Grand Canal, with gondolas moored at a wooden dock. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Venice, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines detail the statues and scrolls of the church, pointed Gothic windows and striped mooring poles. Turquoise water shimmers with horizontal strokes, and the left edge breaks into pink, violet and blue washes with a long drip at the lower left under open white paper. Faded Venetian pink, cream and ochre palaces surround turquoise water, with a lead-gray dome, red and white poles and navy gondolas as accents. The church sits right of center with its great dome, smaller dome and two little bell towers, while palaces line both banks of the canal. A wooden dock with moored gondolas fills the left foreground, and the canal leads back to a hazy lagoon with sailboats in soft early-spring light. "VENICE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Gondolier at work. A gondolier in a striped shirt rows passengers along the canal.
- Striped mooring poles. Red and white and blue and white poles stand at the wooden dock.
- Canal traffic. A crowded water bus and a glossy wooden motorboat share the canal.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Soft pink, cream and turquoise fit a bedroom, bathroom or airy living room with blush or brass accents. Give it as a romantic gift for a Venice honeymoon or an anniversary in Italy.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Venice? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Venice in a watercolor style, painted to show the atmosphere of the canal rather than a precise view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "VENICE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
