This Twelve Apostles Australia poster looks down the limestone coast from the clifftop, where honey-coloured sea stacks stand off a shoreline of turquoise water. Long white breakers roll in row after row, a sheer ochre cliff face fills the right edge, and a low headland fades into haze on the far horizon under a pale blue sky.
About the artwork
A flat vector travel-poster illustration that builds the sea from stacked bands of colour rather than blended gradients. The palette moves from warm apricot and caramel on the sunlit limestone to deep petrol blue, jade and pale aqua in the water, with cream and near-white for the foam. Rock faces are cut into hard-edged planes so the stacks look layered and weathered. The viewpoint is high and slightly angled, so the eye follows the surf lines from the bottom corner up to the tallest stacks. Typography sits in white capitals across the sky: TWELVE APOSTLES above a smaller AUSTRALIA. A clean white margin frames the scene. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Warm rock against cold water. Apricot limestone set against petrol-blue sea gives the print an immediate, natural colour contrast.
- Wave detail that rewards a close look. Rows of white breakers are drawn individually, so the surf reads as movement rather than texture.
- A landmark without a crowd. No people, no cars — just the stacks, the cliffs and the ocean, which keeps it calm on a wall.
- Works as a coastal anchor piece. The blues sit easily with linen, driftwood and pale plaster in a beach-leaning room.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal-and-caramel pairing is happiest on warm white, oatmeal or a soft clay wall, and it lifts a bathroom or a coastal-leaning bedroom. A natural oak or pale ash frame echoes the limestone; a white frame keeps it airy above a linen bedhead. It sits well with rattan, jute, and unglazed terracotta, and a single blue-green ceramic nearby will pull the ocean tones out. Avoid busy patterned wallpaper — the surf detail needs quiet around it.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a sofa or a bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" gives the seascape room to breathe. For a hallway or a gallery wall, 12" x 18" and 18" x 24" work well.
Does it come framed? Paper prints arrive rolled and unframed. Canvas can be ordered stretched, or as framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural.
Are all twelve stacks shown? No — the illustration is a viewpoint along the coast, showing a handful of the tallest stacks plus smaller rocks in the shallows, not a count of the formation.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
