This Toledo, Ohio watercolor print shows the Veterans' Glass City Skyway rising over the Maumee River, with the downtown Toledo skyline across the water. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the Maumee riverfront, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The glass-clad top of the bridge pylon is clear turquoise with streaks of white paper, and fine brown ink traces the stay cables, towers, grain elevators, a freighter and railings. The river is a blue wash holding the pylon's reflection. Seen from International Park on the east bank, the Skyway's single tall pylon and silver cables stand in the middle ground on the right, downtown's brick, stone and dark-glass towers sit on the left, and grain elevators and docks line the far bank. A riverside path with lampposts, grass and a stone edge fills the foreground in early summer. The left edge and bottom soften into blue and yellow blooms, drips and splatter. "TOLEDO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Working river scene. A long rust-red lake freighter and a small tug move along the river.
- Anglers on the rocks. Two people fish from the stone edge as cyclists pass on the path.
- Turquoise glass pylon. The bridge's glass-clad pylon adds a clear turquoise accent to the blue and green.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
The blues, greens and silver gray fit a living room, a den or an office with industrial or modern touches. A good gift for a Toledo native, a Great Lakes shipping fan or someone who just moved to northwest Ohio.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Toledo, Ohio? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Maumee riverfront, with the skyline simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "TOLEDO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
