This Tempe watercolor print shows the pale arched Mill Avenue Bridge crossing Tempe Town Lake, with rocky Hayden Butte and the Superstition Mountains beyond. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the city, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Blue washes fill the lake, with long streaks of bare paper left as sunlight on the water. Fine brown ink outlines the bridge arches, lampposts, low brick buildings and a rowing shell. The view looks east from Tempe Beach Park: the bridge spans the middle ground on the left, Hayden Butte rises in dry orange-brown with saguaros, and the Superstition Mountains sit in violet-blue on the horizon. A lakeside path with palms and streetlights runs through the foreground under mild winter sun. The left edge and bottom melt into pink, violet and yellow blooms, long drips and splatter. "TEMPE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Rowers on the lake. A multi-oar rowing crew glides across the water while a paddleboarder stands nearby.
- Desert butte detail. Hayden Butte is painted in sun-dried orange-brown with small saguaros on its slopes.
- Lake and palm palette. Lake blue and palm green lead, warmed by beige bridge stone and pink desert blooms.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The blue and sandy tones sit well in a sunny living room, a home office or a hallway with warm wood or terracotta accents. Give it to anyone who has jogged the lake path or spent a winter in the Arizona sun.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Tempe? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Tempe Town Lake, and some details, including the shape of the Mill Avenue Bridge, are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "TEMPE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
