This Taos watercolor print shows the five-story, terraced adobe of Taos Pueblo below a snow-dusted Taos Mountain, seen from across Red Willow Creek. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Taos, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Warm orange-brown washes shape the adobe blocks with violet shadows, and fine ink lines pick out the wooden vigas, ladders and small windows. Snow is left as white paper with blue-violet shading, sagebrush is dabbed in gray-green, and gold-brown drips run from the lower left. The palette sets warm earth tones against cool snow and blue-violet mountains, with turquoise wooden doors and red drying chiles as accents. The pueblo sits at center, with a ladder to the roof, two domed horno ovens and a wooden drying rack on the right, Taos Mountain behind, and the small creek, a footbridge and an old wooden fence in front. Light early-winter snow covers the roofs and the peak. "TAOS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Warm and cool contrast. Sunlit adobe against blue-white snow gives the print a strong, quiet glow.
- Snow-capped horno ovens. Two rounded bread ovens wear caps of snow while smoke rises from a chimney.
- Footprints in snow. A dog runs across the snowy yard near a bundled-up figure, and tracks lead to the footbridge.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its earthy browns and soft snow whites suit a cozy living room, a cabin-style bedroom or a study with leather and wool textures. Give it as a holiday gift, to an art lover who has visited northern New Mexico, or to someone who keeps going back to the high desert.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Taos? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Taos, painted to capture the pueblo and mountain in winter rather than as an exact record.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "TAOS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
