This Story Bridge Brisbane poster looks along the river from a shaded riverside path, with the grey steel cantilever span crossing the water and the glass towers of the city rising behind it. Tall palms lean in from both edges of the frame, and a pale walking track curves through mown grass and flowering shrubs toward the bridge.
About the artwork
A flat vector travel-poster illustration that builds the scene from simple planes of colour and long morning shadows rather than photographic texture. The palette is warm and subtropical: a pale aqua sky fading to cream near the horizon, lime and moss greens in the grass and palm fronds, cool grey steel in the bridge trusses, and a deep steel-blue river running through the lower right. The framing is deliberately layered, with palm trunks in the foreground, the bridge in the middle distance and the towers behind. Across the sky the poster prints BRISBANE in wide white capitals with AUSTRALIA spaced smaller beneath. A thin white margin surrounds the image. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A city seen from its river. The view is taken from the bank, so the print feels like a walk rather than a skyline shot.
- Real subtropical light. Long shadows fall across the path and grass, giving the whole lower half a warm early-morning glow.
- Structure and greenery together. Grey steel trusses read cleanly against soft lime foliage, so it works in both modern and natural rooms.
- Depth in three layers. Palm trunks, bridge and towers stack back into the frame and give the print unusual perspective.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The lime and moss greens here want a warm wall rather than a cold one, so try clay white, oatmeal or a soft olive. Walnut and mid-brown timber frames echo the palm trunks; a black frame sharpens the steel trusses if the room is more contemporary. It sits well in a living room or a home office with plants nearby, and it pairs with cane, brass and unbleached cotton. Avoid a grey wall, which flattens the aqua sky.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? For a hallway or a gallery wall, 12" x 18" or 18" x 24" is a good fit. Over a sofa or sideboard, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" lets the bridge trusses stay readable.
Does it come framed? Paper prints arrive rolled and unframed. Canvas can be ordered stretched, or as a framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
Is this a city skyline print or a nature print? Both. The towers are clearly there, but roughly the lower half of the artwork is riverside grass, path and palms, so it reads greener than a typical city poster.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
