This South Padre Island watercolor print shows the white Port Isabel Lighthouse above the Laguna Madre, with the Queen Isabella Causeway arcing across the water to the island skyline. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the area, painted for mood rather than accuracy.
About the artwork
Pale turquoise lagoon water is broken by streaks of bare white paper, and the lighthouse is shaded in cool blue and violet with fine ink on its black lantern. Brown wooden pilings and fishing boats are outlined in crisp ink detail. Seen from a raised viewpoint on the Port Isabel side, the lighthouse stands on a grassy rise at the left beside orange-roofed buildings, and the causeway sweeps toward the South Padre Island skyline at the right. Shrimp boats rest at a wooden dock in the foreground. The palette is lagoon turquoise, lighthouse white and palm green, with warm wood brown and orange tile, on a warm spring day. "SOUTH PADRE ISLAND" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Shrimp boat harbor. Shrimp boats with green nets and small fishing boats crowd the wooden docks.
- Pelicans on pilings. Brown pelicans perch on weathered posts in the foreground.
- Causeway to the island. The long, gently humped bridge leads your eye across the water to the island's towers.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise, white and warm wood tones suit a coastal living room, a fishing-themed den or a sunny kitchen. It makes a thoughtful gift for a Texas family that drives down to the island every spring.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of South Padre Island? No. It is an artistic interpretation of South Padre Island and Port Isabel, painted from a raised viewpoint. Distances and building placement are simplified for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "SOUTH PADRE ISLAND," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
