This Santiago de Compostela watercolor print shows the twin Obradoiro towers of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela rising above a rain-washed path in Alameda Park. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Santiago de Compostela, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine brown ink traces the Baroque granite facade in close detail over pale golden-beige washes. Wet paving catches the light through strokes of bare white paper, and the left edge bleeds camellia pink with long drips before the base breaks into blue-violet speckles on a white paper border. The palette pairs lichen-beige granite with moss green and earthy orange roof tiles, with camellia pink as the accent. The two bell towers stand at center, granite houses with white glazed balconies fill the middle ground, and the foreground follows a park path with stone railings, benches, lamps and flowering camellias. Green Galician hills sit under a soft sky in early spring, just after the rain. "SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Pilgrims on the path. Small figures with backpacks and walking staffs, plus one under an umbrella, walk the wet stone path.
- After-rain light. Glossy paving and a pale sky give the scene a cool, freshly washed feel.
- Camellias in bloom. Pink camellia bushes frame the foreground and echo the pink bleed at the left edge.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Soft beige, moss green and camellia pink suit a calm bedroom, a reading nook or an entryway with natural wood. It makes a meaningful gift for someone who walked the Camino and arrived in Santiago.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Santiago de Compostela? No. The print is an artistic interpretation of Santiago de Compostela, painted in a watercolor style rather than copied from a single photograph.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
