This Santa Fe watercolor print shows the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi at the end of East San Francisco Street, with the snowy Sangre de Cristo Mountains behind. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Santa Fe, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink linework draws the round rose window, the bell openings in the twin square towers and the wooden viga beams poking out of the walls. Snow is left as white paper on the flat roofs and pine trees, and the adobe walls are built up in warm earth layers. The palette is warm brown-orange adobe, golden-brown cathedral stone and blue-violet snowy peaks, accented by chile-red ristras, deep pine green and turquoise pottery. The cathedral sits in the center with its flat-topped towers, flat-roofed adobe buildings with wooden porches line both sides, and the mountains fill the sky behind. A covered sidewalk with a wooden bench and hanging red chiles fills the left foreground, with parked cars along the street on the right, in late winter. "SANTA FE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Red chile ristras. Strings of red chiles hang along the porch.
- Dog walk downtown. A couple walks a yellow dog down the snowy street.
- Turquoise pottery. Turquoise pots and a snow-dusted bench add color under the porch.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Earthy adobe tones with red and turquoise accents look at home in a Southwest living room, a kitchen or an entryway with woven textiles. It is a heartfelt gift for someone who spent a winter holiday in Santa Fe or loves New Mexico.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Santa Fe? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Santa Fe, painted to capture the feel of the street rather than every building.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SANTA FE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
