This Santa Barbara watercolor print shows Old Mission Santa Barbara rising beyond the Mission rose garden, with the Santa Ynez Mountains behind. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Santa Barbara, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Pink, red and white roses are dabbed and layered thickly in front, with long pink drips at the lower left and pink and blue splatter around the edges. The mountains are soft violet-blue washes with fine ink detail. Pink ochre on the facade, grass and tree green and violet-blue peaks form the palette, with rose pink and terracotta on the roof tiles and bell-tower domes. The Mission front with its two red-domed bell towers stands right of center, a tiled arcade runs to the left and a wide lawn separates them from the rose beds and a stone fountain. The Santa Ynez Mountains rise in the back on a late-spring day with the roses in full bloom. "SANTA BARBARA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Rose garden view. Rows of pink, red and white roses lead toward the Mission.
- Lawn gathering. A family on a picnic blanket and visitors walking among the roses add life.
- Mountain backdrop. Soft violet peaks rise behind the bell towers and tall palms.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Blush pink, terracotta and violet make it a soft fit for a bedroom, a Spanish-style living room or a bright dining room. It's a sweet gift for a couple married on the Central Coast or a friend who loves California missions.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Santa Barbara? No. It is an artistic watercolor interpretation of the Mission and its garden. The fountain is shown in a simplified form.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SANTA BARBARA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
