This Salt Lake City watercolor print shows the Utah State Capitol on its hill, with the snow-capped Wasatch Range behind and the downtown skyline to the left. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Salt Lake City, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines draw the Corinthian columns, the dome drum and the Victorian brick houses. The snowy peaks are left as white paper with blue-violet shadows, sagebrush is washed in silvery gray-green, and the dirt trail is left light beige. The palette is pale gray granite and a copper-green dome, snow white and sage green, accented by red Victorian brick, blossom pink and yellow shrubs. The Capitol sits right of center on the hill with its dome in the upper half, downtown towers and white spires stand on the left, and the Wasatch peaks run across the horizon. A sagebrush hillside with a trail fills the lower left, while tree-lined streets of Victorian homes in the Avenues sit on the right in late spring. "SALT LAKE CITY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Hikers with backpacks. Three hikers climb the trail on the sagebrush slope.
- Avenues Victorians. Brick houses with porches and gables line the leafy streets.
- Flags on the Capitol. Two flags fly from the top of the Capitol building.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Sage, slate and snow white feel calm in a bedroom, a mountain cabin or a living room with gray and green accents. It is a thoughtful gift for a skier, a hiker or a former Utah resident.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Salt Lake City? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Salt Lake City that brings the Capitol, downtown and the mountains together in one view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SALT LAKE CITY," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
