This Rialto Bridge watercolor print shows the white stone arch spanning the Grand Canal in Venice, seen from the Riva del Vin waterfront. It captures the mood of the canal in watercolor-style, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The bridge is drawn in fine gray ink, with plenty of white paper left for its sunlit stone. The canal is washed in turquoise over blue, with streaks reflecting the colors of the houses, and the red-and-white mooring poles stand out clearly. The Rialto Bridge and its row of arcaded shops cross the center of the picture, flanked by Gothic palazzi in rose, earth and cream on both banks. Gondolas moored by striped poles and a canal-side café fill the left foreground, and rooftops, domes and bell towers sit behind. It is high summer, with flowers on the balconies and a long drip at the lower left. "VENICE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Gondoliers at work. Gondoliers in striped shirts and straw hats row passengers along the canal.
- Striped mooring poles. Red-and-white poles add crisp accents against the turquoise water.
- Busy Grand Canal. A vaporetto and glossy wooden water taxis share the canal with the gondolas.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.

- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise water, rosy façades and white stone suit a bathroom, a bedroom or a coastal-style living room. Give it as an anniversary gift to a couple who honeymooned in Venice, or to any Italy lover. Pair it with our Venice watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Rialto Bridge? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal, painted loosely and not to exact scale.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "VENICE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
