This Raleigh watercolor print looks down Fayetteville Street to the domed North Carolina State Capitol, with autumn trees lining both sides. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Raleigh, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Orange, red and yellow washes are layered in the trees along the street, with long orange drips on the left edge and blue and orange splatter around the border. The pavement is a pale blue wash with streaks of bare paper. Amber and red-orange leaves play against blue glass towers, with a copper-green dome and old red brick storefronts as accents. The Capitol sits at the center at the end of the street, flying the U.S. and state flags, seen from the south between glass towers and brick buildings. A brick sidewalk with café tables fills the left foreground in the middle of fall. "RALEIGH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Street-level view. The long view down Fayetteville Street pulls the eye straight to the Capitol dome.
- Fall foliage. Red, orange and amber trees line both sides of the street.
- Downtown bustle. A white city bus, a cyclist and outdoor tables under navy umbrellas add everyday life.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Rust, amber and blue make it a cozy match for a living room, a home office or a dining area with warm wood. Consider it for a friend starting a new chapter in the Triangle or as a housewarming gift for a Raleigh family.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Raleigh? No. It is an artistic watercolor interpretation of downtown Raleigh. The Capitol's dome and stone colors are softened and simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "RALEIGH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
