This Queenstown New Zealand travel poster looks down on the town from a forested ridge, with dark pine branches framing the left and right edges. Streets, low rooftops and a curved beach spread along the shoreline below, deep blue lake water wraps around a wooded peninsula, and a long saw-toothed range of snow-covered mountains closes the horizon.
About the artwork
The illustration is a flat vector travel-poster scene, drawn with fine repeated shapes rather than photographic blur: individual rooftops, pine spires and snow gullies are each cut as their own block of colour. The palette moves from a flat mid-blue sky and bright teal water through olive and gold hillsides to deep pine green in the foreground, with white snow and small red and terracotta roofs as accents. The high viewpoint stacks forest, town, lake and mountains into four bands. Across the top the poster prints QUEENSTOWN in wide capitals with NEW ZEALAND beneath. A thin white margin runs around the image. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- An aerial view, not a postcard. The town is shown from above the treeline, the way it looks from the hills behind it.
- Detail that rewards a close look. Streets, jetties, the curved bay beach and individual roofs are all drawn in.
- Snow and lake in one frame. The white range and teal water give the print both a cool top and a bright middle.
- Dark pine framing. The evergreens on either edge act as a built-in border and add depth.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Because the print carries so much fine detail, it looks best with breathing room on a plain wall in warm white, greige or the olive tone shown with the rattan chair. Deep pine greens pick up beautifully against forest-green or charcoal paint. A black frame sharpens the snowline, while walnut or espresso echoes the darker trees. Hang it in a study or hallway where people stand close enough to find the streets and jetties.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Is the town detail still visible in small sizes? The buildings read as texture at 12" x 18". If you want to pick out individual streets and the bay jetties, choose 20" x 30" or larger.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
