This Put-in-Bay watercolor print shows Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial rising over Put-in-Bay harbor, with marinas full of white boats in front. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the island harbor, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines follow the fluting of the tall Doric column, washed in pale cream with cool violet shadows. The harbor is a clear blue with the column's reflection and ripples of bare paper. The memorial rises on a grassy point at middle right and fills most of the height of the print, small Gibraltar Island with its stone castle-like villa sits to the right, and the village waterfront with Victorian porches and umbrellas lines the left. A marina crowded with white boats and a grassy park with cyclists fill the foreground, with low green islands and the Lake Erie horizon behind. The palette is Lake Erie blue, leafy green and boat white, with the soft cream of the column, in early summer. "PUT-IN-BAY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Towering memorial column. The Doric column runs nearly the full height of the print and anchors the harbor view.
- Island harbor bustle. A ferry arrives while golf carts and cyclists move along the waterfront.
- Gibraltar Island villa. The small castle-like stone villa adds a storybook touch on the right.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Blue, green and cream fit a lake cottage, a family room or an office with navy accents. Give it to someone who heads out to the islands every summer, or as a reminder of a fun weekend on Lake Erie.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Put-in-Bay? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Put-in-Bay. Colors and some details, like the stone tone of the memorial, are softened.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "PUT-IN-BAY," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
