A Prince Edward Island National Park poster from the top of the bank: iron-red sandstone cliffs crumbling down to a long pale beach, marram grass leaning across the foreground, and rank after rank of surf running in off the Gulf.
About the artwork
Almost no other Canadian coast looks like this, and the print leans into the reason — colour. The cliffs are worked in five or six reds, from bright rust where the face is freshly cut to deep oxblood in the gullies, and the same red repeats in the wet sand and the stones on the beach. Against it the water is a clean cool blue with white breaking lines, and the clifftop carries a narrow strip of green field. The dune grass in the foreground is drawn blade by blade, all bending the same way.
The sheet is the Canadian park service layout used across this series, with the type in the same iron red as the cliffs: cream border, small dark capitals along the top reading PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND · 46.41° N, 63.07° W · EST 1937, and PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND at the foot over NATIONAL PARK with the Parks Canada wordmark and beaver roundel. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Red that comes from the ground. The island's iron-rich sandstone is the colour, and the type on the sheet is matched to it.
- Warm and cool in equal measure. Rust cliffs against blue Gulf water — the widest contrast in the Canada parks series.
- Summer-holiday memory. The beaches here are where a great many Maritime childhoods happened.
- Coordinates on the sheet. 46.41° N, 63.07° W, established 1937.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Strong rust needs a calm ground: cream, bone or warm white rather than another strong colour. It ties in immediately with terracotta pots, leather and warm wood, and an espresso or natural frame suits it better than black. This is a good print for a room that needs warming up, and it is the obvious counterweight to the cool Rockies sheets if you are hanging several.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Why are the cliffs red? Iron oxide in the island's sandstone. The banner along the top gives the park's coordinates and its founding year, 1937.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
