A Yoho National Park poster from the shoreline: milky jade water running back into the frame, a grey headwall with a hanging glacier standing at the head of the valley, dense conifer slopes on both sides, and a bank of pale boulders along the near shore.
About the artwork
Painted with a lot of texture and almost no flat colour. The rock face is worked in fine hatching that follows the bedding of the cliff, the forest is built from thousands of individual conifer silhouettes rather than a green mass, and the boulders in the foreground are modelled one by one with lichen and shadow. The water is the unusual part: pale opaque jade near the shore where the glacial silt settles, deepening to a cooler green further out, with the ridgeline reflected across it.
The layout is the Canadian park service sheet used across this series: cream border, a line of small dark capitals along the top reading BRITISH COLUMBIA · 51.40° N, 116.48° W · EST 1886, and YOHO in heavy condensed type at the foot over NATIONAL PARK with the Parks Canada wordmark and beaver roundel. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Green, not blue. The jade of a silt-fed lake is a different colour from the turquoise of Moraine or Maligne, and it suits a warmer room.
- Texture that rewards a close look. Hatched rock, individual trees, modelled boulders — it holds up at large sizes.
- One of Canada's oldest parks. Established 1886, printed on the sheet along with its coordinates.
- An easy neighbour. The green pulls it toward plants and wood rather than toward cold blue rooms.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is the greenest of the Rockies prints in the series, so it belongs in a room with wood, wool or plants rather than one with chrome and glass. Cream and oatmeal walls suit it best; sage walls make it go tonal and quiet, which some people want. Natural oak frames match the border. It pairs well with Kootenay, since both are British Columbia sheets with the same typographic foot.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Why is the water green rather than blue? Glacial silt suspended in the meltwater scatters light toward green. The banner along the top gives the park's coordinates and its founding year, 1886.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
