A Pituamkek National Park poster along the Prince Edward Island sandhills: marram grass burning gold in the foreground, a long chain of dunes running away to the north, tidal flats catching the light between them, and the Gulf lying flat beyond.
About the artwork
The whole sheet is built on one long diagonal. The dune chain enters at the bottom right and narrows to almost nothing at the horizon, so the eye is pulled the length of the picture in a single move. Colour does the rest: hot gold and honey in the near grass, cooling through sand and pale rose on the flats, then two blues for shallow water and open Gulf. Close in, the drawing is very fine — bent grass blades, the ripple pattern the tide leaves in wet sand, and small bird tracks crossing it.
The sheet is the Canadian park service layout used across this series, with the type in deep gold: cream border, small dark capitals along the top reading PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND · 46.58° N, 63.80° W · EST 2024, and PITUAMKEK at the foot over NATIONAL PARK, with the Parks Canada wordmark and beaver roundel below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The newest park in the series. Established in 2024 and co-managed with the Epekwitk Mi'kmaq — the sheet carries the founding year on its banner.
- A dune system, not a beach. Sandhills, tidal flats and shifting spits rather than a stretch of shoreline, which is what gives the print its depth.
- The warmest palette of all 45. Gold, honey and rose — it lifts a north-facing room that cooler prints leave flat.
- Hangs as a set. Every print in the Canada parks series shares the same border, banner and typographic foot, so a row of them lines up exactly.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Warm gold is easy to place and hard to over-light, so this print holds up in a bright room and warms a dim one. Cream, sand and pale terracotta walls suit it; on white it reads clean and graphic. Natural oak or a pale ash frame keeps it soft, black makes it modern. It sits naturally next to Prince Edward Island and Kouchibouguac.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
How do you say the name? Roughly "bee-doo-um-gek", a Mi'kmaq name for this stretch of sandhills. The banner along the top gives the reserve's coordinates and its founding year, 2024.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
