This Pittsburgh watercolor print looks down from Mount Washington over the Point, where the rivers meet below the glass spires of PPG Place and a run of yellow steel bridges. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Pittsburgh, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the pointed glass spires of PPG Place, the trusses of the yellow bridges and a red cable car climbing its track. The rivers are turquoise strokes with soft reflections, and the tall plume of the Point State Park fountain is left as bare white paper. Downtown towers cluster just right of center, the Point and its fountain sit at middle left, and the autumn slope of Mount Washington fills the foreground. Blue-violet hills of the North Side fade behind, and the edges break into rust, red and gold splashes with long drips. "PITTSBURGH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- City of bridges. Bright yellow spans repeat across the rivers and pull the eye through the scene.
- The incline car. A red wooden cable car climbs the hillside in the foreground.
- Fall on the slopes. Rust and red trees frame the skyline in early autumn.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its steel blue and bridge yellow work in a home office, den or living room with navy, black or warm wood. A good gift for a Pittsburgh native, a new grad heading home or anyone who misses the view from Mount Washington.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Pittsburgh? No. It is an artistic interpretation from above the Point, so towers, bridges and hills are simplified and gathered into one view rather than drawn to scale.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "PITTSBURGH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
