This Pisa watercolor print shows the Leaning Tower of Pisa beside the Duomo and Baptistery on the green lawns of Piazza dei Miracoli, seen from above the old town wall. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Pisa, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
White marble is left almost as bare paper, with tiny arcades traced in brown-gray ink and shaded in gray-violet. The lawns are laid in flat, fresh green, the left edge bleeds bougainvillea pink with long drips, and the base dissolves into olive speckles. Ivory marble and grass green lead the palette, with terracotta roofs in front and accents of bougainvillea pink and blue-violet hills. The tower leans right of center into the upper sky, Pisa Cathedral sits in the middle and the domed Pisa Baptistery is on the left, while stone walls, tiled roofs and cypresses fill the foreground. The Monte Pisano hills rest behind in soft spring light. "PISA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- View from the walls. The raised viewpoint looks down over rooftops onto the square.
- Visitors on the lawn. People stroll and sit on the grass, and a cyclist passes below.
- Pink bougainvillea. Flowers spill over the ancient wall beside iron lanterns.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Ivory, green and terracotta sit easily in a kitchen, a dining room or a hallway with warm neutrals. It makes a fun reminder of a first trip to Italy or a gift for a student heading to Tuscany.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Pisa? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Pisa, and some details are simplified or adjusted, including the tower's rows of arcades. The Leaning Tower is still easy to recognize.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "PISA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
