A Peace Bridge Calgary poster from the riverbank: the red steel helix sweeping in from the upper right and out across the Bow, a grassy bank and a line of round cobbles in the near foreground, and the downtown towers standing on the far shore beyond the far abutment.
About the artwork
One object, drawn hard. The bridge is rendered as a lattice of crossing red tubes with the glazed roof panels showing pale between them, and it is cropped at both edges so it reads as a tunnel passing through the frame rather than a span you see whole. Below it the Bow is a strong mid-blue with a broken white riffle across the middle, and the near bank rises in mown green with a row of grey river cobbles along the waterline. Downtown is drawn small and cool at the left, deliberately secondary. Title in white capitals, CALGARY above CANADA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Red as the whole point. The bridge is the only warm object in the frame and it dominates completely.
- A modern landmark. Newer than most poster subjects, and instantly recognisable to anyone who walks or cycles the pathway.
- Ground-level view. Standing on the bank rather than looking down from a drone, which is what gives it scale.
- A different Calgary. If you already have a skyline print, this one says the same city in a completely different voice.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Strong red on blue needs a neutral wall to work — white, bone or pale grey. Do not hang it against a warm terracotta wall, where the bridge loses its punch. A thin black frame suits the engineering; oak softens it. It is a natural pair with the Calgary street print, one warm and busy, one cool and spare.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What is the red bridge? The Peace Bridge, the red tubular pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Bow River at the west end of downtown Calgary.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
