This Palace of Fine Arts watercolor print shows the domed rotunda and curving colonnade reflected in the lagoon in San Francisco, framed by weeping willows. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the park, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines draw the Corinthian columns, relief panels and ribbed dome, and the willows are long, hanging strokes of green. The lagoon is layered with vertical and horizontal reflections in ochre pink and teal, and many pink and blue drips run down the left edge and bottom. The palette is the warm ochre pink of the rotunda, willow green and teal water, with white swans and pink water lilies as accents. The rotunda stands on the left, seen from the east shore of the lagoon looking west, with the colonnade curving to the right behind the willows and the wooded Presidio hills behind. Reeds, lily pads and still, mirror-like water fill the foreground in warm late-summer light. "SAN FRANCISCO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Swans on the lagoon. Two white swans glide in the foreground, with ducks and pink water lilies nearby.
- Mirror reflections. The rotunda's warm stone repeats in the calm water below.
- Romantic willows. Weeping willows frame the colonnade with long, soft green strokes.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
The soft ochre, green and teal palette suits a bedroom, reading corner or bathroom with calm, neutral decor. It is a lovely gift for a couple who married or got engaged in San Francisco, or for someone who loves classical architecture. Pair it with our San Francisco watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Palace of Fine Arts? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the rotunda and lagoon, and some background details are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SAN FRANCISCO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
