This Oxford, Mississippi watercolor print shows the white Lafayette County Courthouse in the middle of Oxford Courthouse Square, flanked by two magnolias in bloom. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Oxford, Mississippi, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The courthouse is left as white paper with blue-gray shadows and fine ink on the columns and clock faces. Deep green magnolias are dotted with white flowers saved from the paper, and the left edge fades into pink, yellow and blue with long drips at both lower corners and a scatter of dots around a white paper border. The building sits at center with its four-sided clock tower and small navy dome rising into the upper third, a monument in front and two-story brick buildings with iron balconies wrapping the square. A brick street and a magnolia branch in the lower right corner set the scene in late spring. "OXFORD" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Magnolias on both sides. Two large blooming magnolias frame the courthouse like a pair of curtains.
- Life around the square. People rest on benches, wave from flower-filled balconies and drive slowly around the square.
- Navy clock tower dome. A small navy dome tops the clock tower above white columns and deep green leaves.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
White, deep green and brick red bring a calm Southern feel to a living room, a library wall or a bedroom with cream and navy textiles. It is a lovely gift for an Ole Miss graduate or anyone who spent a few happy years in Oxford.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Oxford, Mississippi? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Oxford, and a few details are softened, like the wooded hills in the distance, which look a bit taller than the real landscape.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "OXFORD," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
