This Oxford, England watercolor print looks down on the round Radcliffe Camera in Radcliffe Square, with the Gothic towers of All Souls College behind. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Oxford, England, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Honey limestone is built up in layered yellow-beige washes, and the lead-grey dome is shaded in blue-violet with fine ink on each rib. Honey Cotswold stone and lead grey lead the palette, with the green of the round lawn, deep crimson autumn creeper and orange-gold leaves. The Radcliffe Camera sits at the center, seen from a church tower above, with its dome reaching up and the twin spired towers of All Souls College in the upper left. A smaller dome and spires stand far to the right, and the paved square, fenced round lawn and college pinnacles fill the foreground. Leaves gather at both edges with long blue and red drips, setting the scene in mid-autumn. "OXFORD" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Student life. Students cycle across the square and a figure in an academic gown walks by.
- Crimson Virginia creeper. Deep red creeper climbs the college walls.
- High, detailed view. The bird's-eye angle shows rooftops, spires and lawn in fine detail.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Honey, grey and crimson suit a study, a home library or a living room with leather and dark wood. It is a proud gift for a graduate, a new student or the parent of one.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Oxford, England? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Oxford, England. The square and its buildings are painted loosely from above, with details simplified rather than measured.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "OXFORD," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
