This Oslo watercolor print shows the sloping white roof of the Oslo Opera House meeting the water, with the Barcode towers rising behind it. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Oslo, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Most of the marble roof is left as bare paper, outlined in thin gray ink, while the glass walls and towers are washed in blue-gray with vertical ink lines. The fjord water is laid in horizontal blue strokes. Icy white and fjord blue lead the palette, with blue-gray glass, pine-green hills and small accents of red, yellow and brick. The Opera House stretches across the middle like a tilted iceberg, the Barcode Project stands to the right in Bjørvika, Akershus Fortress sits on a rocky bluff to the left and the Holmenkollen ski jump appears on the hill at upper right. It is midsummer, with yellow and blue drips at both lower corners and splatter on the white border. "OSLO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Summer swimming deck. People sunbathe and swim from a wooden deck in the foreground.
- Red and yellow kayaks. Two bright kayaks add warm color against the cool fjord blue.
- Modern meets historic. The angular Opera House and Barcode towers share the view with Akershus Fortress and the Holmenkollen ski jump.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its crisp white and blue palette suits a Scandinavian-style living room, a light bedroom or a minimal home office. Give it to someone who spent a summer in Norway or a friend who loves modern architecture.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Oslo? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Oslo that brings several landmarks into one view. It is not a photograph-accurate scene.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "OSLO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
