This Maldives watercolor print shows thatched overwater villas linked by a long curving wooden jetty to a small palm-covered coral island in a turquoise atoll lagoon. The artwork is a loose, watercolor-style take on the islands, not an exact view of one resort.
About the artwork
The lagoon is built from clear turquoise layers, with a net of light left as bare paper and dark coral patches dabbed beneath. Fine ink lines define the thatched roofs and jetty planks, and the right edge and lower left corner run into pink and blue drips and splatter. Aqua and turquoise water, palm green and white sand make up the palette, with pink-red bougainvillea in the lower left. Seen from a high vantage point, the jetty curves out from the island on the left into the middle of the lagoon, with a dark reef in the lower right and low atoll islands on the far horizon. It is a calm, sunny dry-season day. "MALDIVES" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- High lagoon view. The elevated angle shows the whole sweep of villas and jetty across the clear water.
- Seaplane and dhoni. A white seaplane rests on the water while a wooden dhoni with a white sail crosses the lagoon.
- Snorkelers on the reef. Two snorkelers float over the dark coral, and guests stand on the villa decks.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The airy turquoise and white make it a natural fit for a primary bedroom, a spa-like bathroom or a light-filled living room. Hang it as a reminder of a Maldives honeymoon, or give it to mark a milestone trip.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Maldives? No. It is an artistic interpretation, drawn from a higher angle than a dock-level view, and the villa layout is simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "MALDIVES," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
