This Petra watercolor print shows the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) carved into rose-red sandstone, framed by the curving walls of the Siq. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the site, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine brown ink traces each Corinthian column, statue and pediment of the carved façade over a transparent pink-orange wash. The walls of the Siq are swept in winding bands of pink, orange, violet and gray-blue that follow the grain of the rock. The two-story Treasury, with six columns and a round kiosk with a conical roof, stands in the center, framed by the curving canyon walls and seen from the last bend of the Siq. Resting camels and visitors sit on the pale pink sand in the foreground, and a sliver of blue sky shows at the top. The light is warm and soft, like a mild spring day. "PETRA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Rose-red sandstone. Warm pink earth tones fill almost the whole print, from the façade to the canyon floor.
- Resting camels. Two camels with colorful saddles rest near a Bedouin guide.
- Framed by the Siq. The curving canyon walls work like a natural frame around the Treasury.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Rose, terracotta and soft violet suit a living room, a bedroom or a boho or desert-style space. Give it to an adventurous traveler, an archaeology fan or someone who walked the Siq to the Treasury.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Petra? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Petra, and the colors of the canyon walls are brightened for effect.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "PETRA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
