This Lafayette, Louisiana watercolor print shows the red brick Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist with its green-domed tower, the St. John Cathedral Oak and blooming azaleas. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Lafayette, Louisiana, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Red brick is built up in several layers, with brown ink detailing the arched windows and rose window, and the oak's Spanish moss is drawn in pale gray strokes that let the paper show. Brick red and green lead the palette, accented by pink azaleas, white stone and grave markers, copper-green domes and silver moss. The cathedral sits at center with its tiered central tower reaching the top third, the ancient oak frames the left and the cemetery with white tombs and an iron fence sits to the right. A curving brick path through azalea beds leads in from the foreground, and the full bloom points to early spring. The lower edge washes into pink and blue with a long drip at the bottom left and splatter around a white paper border. "LAFAYETTE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it

Styling it at home
Rich brick red and garden green add warmth to a dining room, a family room or a hallway with wood tones. It is a heartfelt gift for someone with Acadiana roots or a couple who said their vows in Lafayette.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Lafayette, Louisiana? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Lafayette, Louisiana, focused on the cathedral grounds and garden mood rather than precise detail.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "LAFAYETTE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
